Revealed in Profane Splendour is the debut album from London's Sidious, a blackened death metal act who find themselves on Kaotoxin Records. This is brutal, yet highly majestic extreme metal, as deep evil growls, pummeling guitar riffs, and manic drum blasts combat wonderful symphonic keyboard soundscapes every step of the way. Fans of Fleshgod Apocalypse will definitely get a kick out of tracks like "Inexorable Revelation" and "Sacrilegious Majesty", two pulverizing tracks that contain some technical riffing yet don't go over the top with complexity, and those keyboards...simply divine. The vocals of Isfeth are very well done, and he's spewing all sorts of venom on the crushing title track, one of the best examples of the fusing of black & death metal on this album. Drummer Khrudd plays like a man possessed on the raging "Annihilation of Abhorrent Credence", and the glorious riffing & twin lead guitar harmonies of Isfeth & Indomitus on "O Paragon, Bringer ov light" are nothing less than spectacular.
Toss in some great artwork on the digipack, and you have a really stunning release here from Sidious, a band who have announced their arrival in a huge way. Fans of symphonic extreme metal rejoice!
