After 2012's successful Paths to Charon, Sweden's Skånska Mord move from Small Stone Records to Transubstans Records for their new self-titled EP release. In fact, this one's only available on black or solid white 12" vinyl, so better scoop one up as quickly as possible before they are all gone. The band play a moody blend of 70s styled bluesy hard rock and early proto/doom metal, evident on tunes "Leaving" and "Illusion", while plenty of wah-wah drenched psychedelia comes out on the chilling "A Room Without A View". The band even covers Janne Schaffer's "Black Salad", giving it a thunderous take that comes across like a cross between Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. If you love meaty, often times metallic blues rock riffs, sizzling guitar solos, and powerful vocals, make sure you get a hold of this little '70s inspired gem.
