Here's the latest EP from the death metal supergroup put together by multi-media artist Nader Sadek, titled The Malefic: Chapter III. He's enlisted into the fold this time around a word class selection of musicians, including the returning Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy) on drums, guitarist Run Eriksen (Aura Noir), vocalist Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation), bassist Martin Rygiel (ex-Decapitated), bassist Alex Webster (Cannibal Corpse), guitarist Bobby Koelble (ex-Death), bassist Olivier Pinard (Neuraxis, Cryptopsy), back-up vocalist Carmen Simoes (Moonspell), and guitarist Andreas Kisser (Sepultura). The four songs were all written & composed by Sadek, who also designed the artwork, and encompass all different flavors of extreme metal, from crushing old school death metal, black metal, doom, and tech-death. "Deformation by Incision" bludgeons with crushing, technical might, as Ryan spews his venom over furious, complex riffing and acrobatic blasts, while "Carrion Whispers" sees Mounier's relentless blasting flying about the mix under a mix of death & black metal riffs and Ryan's never ending variety of vocal styles. Classic Florida death metal fans will love the brutal sounds of "Entropy Eternal", complete with some scorching guitar solos, and "Descent" slows things down to a doom laden, melancholy dripping, atmospheric crawl. If you have 20 minutes to spare, The Malefic- Chapter III will be a great way to spend it.
