The quality metal releases from both those established and new Italian metal bands keep coming and this is another. Originally going under the name of Holly Terror they would later change their name to Resumed. Resumed are an old-school technical death metal band with other influences from "jazz, fusion, funk and Latin music".
Resumed have now recorded their debut album titled Alienations and what a great effort it is. This release was produced by Resumed's agile drummer Filippo Tirabassi who ensured that Alienations does have a sound that totally suits, and everyone enjoys equal billing no one is over presented. Resumed do remind one of the legendary and highly influential metal band Death, Resumed's dynamic music is very much of the technical format, and their vocalist's growls are most appropriate for this kind of metal group.
Alienations sounds like the work of a group that have been performing together for some time, which I suppose they have as the band was founded in 2007 with some line-up changes since. The thing I like most about Alienations is that this very talented lineup are able to stretch themselves musically and lay down so many intricate passages, and all the while still sounding so captivating with many well placed hooks. This is a release that will be welcome by fans of the more complex forms of metal.
