Blue Skies Burn Red is the debut EP from Fate Prevailed who at the time of recording were a six-piece metal band from Ajax, Ontario who combine melodic female vocals with heavy instrumentation and screaming vocals. The band members are Mike Seeley (Keyboard, Vocals) Roger Harris (Bass, Vocals) Zach Karry (Guitar) Ariana Ganga (Vocals) Grant Kimmerer (Guitar,) the drum stool currently appears to be vacant.
As you can see none of the tracks are exactly short so this EP is roughly the same length as AC/DC's recent Rock or Bust album so there is certainly value for money for any potential purchaser and a worthwhile purchase it would be too. Straight from the off we find ourselves confronted by speedy guitars and fluid keyboard runs alongside tight groves from the rhythm section. The contrast between the harsh male vocals and the sweeter (but not that sweet) works throughout and the title track is particularly impressive beginning again from the keys upwards, through metallic riffs into a sing that may well have fitted onto Oratory's Beyond Earth album which I consider to be one of the great underrated albums.
