Leah: Kings & Queens

Apparently Leah's international fans call her "The Metal-Enya,"which I am not sure is a good or a bad thing given the all-encompassing blandness of Enya's work. I'm guessing that this is a way of suggesting that Leah's work has Celtic, ethereal overtones which it most certainly does. She also has some interesting muso chums such as Timo Somers and Sander Zoer of Delain, and Barend Courbois of Blind Guardian and Vengeance to help her out and none of the album's fourteen tracks clock in at less than four and a half minutes so you certainly get value for your hard earned cash.

There is a wealth of good material on Kings & Queens with "Save the World" coming across as a cross as a heavier Blackmore's Night and Edenbridge with excellent production values which is impressive given that the album was crowd funded. Strangley I found myself thinking that Leah's voice had a similar lower register to Madonna's on "Angel Fell" and I don't mean this as a criticism and if Leah can be a fraction as successful as Madonna she will do alright. There are echoes of Nightwish, Xandria all over Kings & Queens but in no way is Leah a mere copyist. In fact she's a veritable one woman independent business deserving of a trip to her various websites starting with the one listed below.
