Die, Alio/Parallel Worlds: Elusive Metaphor

Electronic soundscape artists Stefano Musso (aka Alio Die) and Bakis Sirros (aka Parallel Worlds) latest offering Elusive Metaphor was recorded between 2011 and 2014.

Now I like electronic music as much as the next person but on this album, much like the previous effort Circo Divino, there isn't enough to keep my interest. The fifty-three minutes of music spread over seven tunes almost feels like one song. The droning sounds are too similar and while there are some cool sound effects the music is much too ambient for my tastes and boredom came all too quickly. If the electronic effects were set against a rockier backdrop there might be something here but as it is there just isn't enough meat on these bones.

On the plus side the artwork is nice and the song titles intriguing but pictures and words does not an album make.

If droning ambient music floats your boat Elusive Metaphor might be worth a try. For everyone else, this will be a tough sell.
