Ravage Machinery: Subordinates of the Mechanism

Ravage Machinery are a 5-piece Finnish death metal juggernaut who have been together since 2004. As of yet, the band remains unsigned, but that hasn't stopped them from releasing this strong new CD Subordinates of the Mechanism, a collection of 9 brutal examples of old school styled death metal with a modern twist. Rauli Alaruikka doesn't play around here, tossing out a variety of grunts, growls, and screams throughout such heavy hitting tracks as "Decapitation", "Evolution of Malevolence", and the twisting, turning "Supremus Deus Machinarum". Guitarists Simo Pasma & Tuomas Valtanen weave some crushing riffs, technical at times, but always pulverizing, and there's even the occasional flashy guitar solo thrown in for good measure. Let's not forget the rhythm team of bassist Samuli Visuri and drummer Rauli Juopperi, both of whom work on overdrive throughout, but especially on "Miscarriage" and the lethal, blast beat driven "Limits of Systematic Madness".

Honestly, Subordinates of the Mechanism is better than a lot of the generic death metal we hear on a lot of the major extreme metal labels these days, so hopefully one of them will scoop Ravage Machinery up so the metal masses can see what they are all about. And if that doesn't happen, well, check 'em out anyway.
