The experienced line-up of Grim Reaper/Lionsheart/Onslaught vocalist Steve Grimmett, along with other former members of the UK thrash metal group Onslaught, drummer Steve Grice, guitarist Al Jordan and bass player Jase Stallard have pooled their talents and formed The Sanity Days.
Unlike Onslaught The Sanity Days material isn't thrash orientated, Evil Beyond Belief is a dark and heavy blend of predominantly mid tempo straightforward heavy metal tracks. Besides the opener the remainding songs are not what you would call short, there are those like the title track that are quite the opposite. The spoken words of a young boy telling of a ghost called Charlie on the track "Genesis" are complemented by eerie music and sound effects, that haunting theme continues on "Charlie" a heavy rocker where The Sanity Days gets their metal pumping. Other standout tracks include "Satan's Blood", "Evil Beyond Belief" and "Ruler of Eternity" which The Sanity Days recorded as a tribute to Ronnie James Dio. The Sanity Days do play an easily accessible kind of metal, and while not every song has won me over there are some very cool inclusions on their debut Evil Beyond Belief.
