Kicking off with a haunting keyboard intro that wouldn't have sounded out of place on an old Goblin soundtrack to a Dario Argento horror movie, "Maligne" quickly morphs into a gargantuan doom/death metal track, complete with massive riffing and chilling, often times ghastly vocal rasps. The second track of this new 7" EP from the German trio known as Doomentor, "Nocturniae Monumentalis", clocks in at just under 8-minutes, and slows things down to even more of a grinding death march, as tortured screams stab above bone crunching Trouble/Candlemass styled riffs and plodding drum work. The Second Ceremony overall gives a good glimpse into the bands form of 'Black Occult Imperial Doom Metal', and I for one will be very interested to hear more from this underground metal act.
