Iron Savior: Megatropolis 2.0 (2015)

I'm a confirmed fan of Iron Savior, there's plenty of evidence all over this site to prove this as a fact, however, the one time they've disappointed me was in 2007 with the Megatropolis album. Clearly the band and in particular leader Piet Sielck agreed and the album has been revisited, tweaked and is now better if still not their best. Here's the original track listing:

Running Riot
The Omega Man
Flesh
Megatropolis
Cybernetic Queen
Cyber Hero
A Tale from Down Below
Still I Believe
Farewell and Good Bye

Somehow just starting with the thunderous drums at the start of "The Omega Man" makes things feel so much better and the flow is decidedly improved. Of course, it's metaltastic from start to finish and slightly less subtle than a UKIP broadcast (one for UK readers there.)There's all the bombast one associates with the Savior and one's head could seriously fall off as there's nothing even resembling a ballad to leaven things out – not that that's what fans of the Savior would want. Sielck explains thus, "Being unhappy with the album for a long time, I am absolutely happy to get a chance to correct my errors. The new mix will carry all Iron Savior trademarks such as big choir backings and lots of multi timbral vocals. I left all these goodies out at the time to make the album more distinguishable from my former second band Savage Circus... a fatal error, which I finally can correct now."

Make sure you get the version with the bonus tracks as "Iron Watcher" is worth the price of admission all by itself, it's an updated version of their eponymous track and is utterly tremendous.
