LORD: What Tomorrow Brings

LORD the premier Australian melodic metal group have another excellent release following the ultra addictive album Digital Lies. The EP What Tomorrow Brings comprising of two original and four cover tracks, and with a title number that has LORD going all out. There's plenty of variety as LORD are quite the vesratile band and so What Tomorrow Brings is not restrcited to melodic metal with both lighter and darker inclusions, and at over twenty five minutes What Tomorrow Brings is considerably longer than you usual EP.

The storyline for the captivating epic "What Tomorrow Brings" is that of a man whom has lost it all, how this came to be and the ultimate choice he must then make. This story is told as LORD use the considerable duration to present more of their masterful musicianship and quality vocals. That which we have come to expect given the past releases with both the former band Dungeon and continuing with LORD. The entrancing music alternates in line with the highly emotional tale from the happy to the darker times, For example after a devastating car accident takes place LORD switch from melodic metal to destructive death metal mode adding so much to the impact of such a tragedy. The characters spoken parts and sound effects are also incorporated so well, the end result is one compelling track.

LORD's other original and much shorter track is the powered up "Haunted" which is very agreable as are the covers. LORD cleverly put their spin on songs like The Police hit "Message In A Bottle", in this heavier version with double kicks and more while retaining much of the original. My favourite of the four being that of Helloween's energetic "Someone's Crying". LORD does a great job capturing the spirit of the original, and Tim Yatras nails this one on the drums as LORD have with this release What Tomorrow Brings.
