Andrey Zvonaryov (Rhythm/Lead guitarist) and Alexey Zvonaryov (Bass) started the Russian group Beorn whom refer to their style as modern symphonic power metal. After some time and line-up changes Beorn have finally released their debut Time To Dare
Now we do get subjected to a large number of similar sounding power metal groups, and as a result many of those are easily forgettable. I'm "on the fence" so to speak with Beorn in that I'm not really blown away but I do find that Time To Dare has something that keeps me coming back but not to all of it. It's like "Galaxy In Flames" this song has a good deal of very appealing and potent metal, but the vocals just don't work for me otherwise this would be something else. The production on Time To Dare is probably best rated as acceptable, which also pretty much sums up this here album.
