Twin Crew is a six piece heavy/power metal group from Stockholm, Sweden that was started out in 2007 by the brothers and guitarists Dennis and David Janglov. Veni Vidi Vici is Twin Crew's latest and third full length release which follows two prior albums Judgement Night and Northern Crusade so the band clearly have experience on their side. Twin Crew take inspiration from the likes of some of metal's prominent acts namely Iron Maiden, Helloween, Accept, and Judas Priest and you can hear that and other influences on the album.
Twin Crew offer a range of styles on Veni Vidi Vici there's a mixture of intensity and tempo. With the speedy power metal tunes such as "Sky Is Falling" that reminds of a rapid Stratovarius/Sonata Arctica, or then you have "Stand Your Ground" which is a catchy rocking metal number as Twin Crew go Accept style. Twin Crew also venture into pirate territory for the enjoyable closer "Ghost Of The Seven Seas" one of Veni Vidi Vici's best and the guitar/keyboard harmonies and vocals really do the trick. As noted on the band's website "Veni, Vidi, Vici is a Latin phrase popularly attributed to Julius Caesar, and simply translates to 'I came, I saw, I conquered'" and while I would be hesitant in backing that up by clamining that Veni Vidi Vici is a totally triumphant metal release this album does features its share of winners such as the memorable title track.
