War Brigade is the latest studio album by the potent German power/heavy metal group Mystic Prophecy. With nine albums released since 2002 this hard hitting group clearly aren't sitting on their hands be it recording new material or touring this is one very active band. If you are yet to experience Mystic Prophecy but have heard the likes of Primal Fear, Firewind and Brainstorm and they rock your boat them I'm sure Mystic Prophecy will also.
Mystic Prophecy play a vigorous/catchy style of power metal having recorded so many memorable songs along the way since the release of their debut Vengeance. With 2006's Savage Souls which is packed full of fantastic hard hitting/head banging metal still being my standout of all their albums. Just like its predecessor Killhammer and those that came before it War Brigade is another strapping metal album by this German metal powerhouse. That hardened lively power metal appears on the melodic opener "Follow The Blind"
and once again the distinctive vocals of R.D. Liapakisare are very appealing, next up "Metal Brigade" is slower and just as catchy. The addictive riffs are flowing as Mystic Prophecy unleash a metallic tornado on "Burning Out" where the guitars steal the show on this scorching metal track, "The Devil Is Back" is a great mid paced thumping number. War Brigade does have an effective balance of tempo with it's tracks and there is even a ballad "10.000 Miles Away", the only one I'd skip is the "Sex Bomb" cover this heavy version is ok but not essential listening.
Mystic Prophecy's War Brigade rocks big time with explosive songs like "Fight For One Nation" that are just begging for more volume, and really what more could you want?
