Copenhagen's Rising are comprised of vocalist Morten Gronnegaard, guitarists Jacob Krogholt & Anders Bo Rasmussen, bassist Bjarke Lassen, and drummer Martin Meimann, and their brand new, third album is titled Oceans Into Their Graves for Indisciplinarian/Earsplit Distro. This 10 track release contains the first set of new songs since the band split up after 2013s Abominor, as they once again mix their brand of classic metal with plenty of modern attitude. Hints of Mastodon, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, and Mercyful Fate pop up on dark, grinding rockers like "Old Jealousy", "Burn Me Black", "All Dirt", and the lengthy, somewhat doomy "The Anger", each song filled with plenty of tasty guitar solos, majestic riffing, and Morten's powerful vocal delivery. Old school mashers like "Death of a Giant" and "Coward Heart" satisfy the thirst for the NWOBHM, while the band go for a more sludge laden sound on the slower, moodier, "Killers of the Mind" and "The Night". Overall Oceans Into Their Graves is a very solid release that sees the band invigorated and ready to take on all comers in this next phase of their career.
