Algorithm of Destruction is the Finisterian Dead End debut from French death metal act Red Dawn, a nine track release that fuses technical death metal with a old school flair. The group is comprised of drummer Thomas, bassist Val, vocalist Nours and guitarists Flo & Chris, and it's apparent they have studied their Morbid Angel, Behemoth, The Faceless, Necrophagist, Decapitated, Aborted, and Gorod well, as evident by such punishing tracks as "Cracked Clock", "Strange Dreams", and the brutal yet highly intricate "Looking Through the Eye of God". The crushing riffs & interlocking lead guitar lines are quite breathtaking at times, especially on the massive "Alter Ego" and speedy "Fall of Curtain", all while acrobatic rhythms boil underneath and Nours' venom spews over the top. For a wild ride of progressive, technical death metal, check out "Infinity of Time", a near 7-minute excursion into folky, jazzy realms surrounded by punishing extreme metal arrangements.
Judging by this debut, Red Dawn are without a doubt a band to keep your eye on, especially if you love progressive & technical death metal.
