Magick Touch: Electrick Sorcery
Classic styled Hard Rock of the 70's and 80's is what the Norwegian Power Trio, Magick Touch, bring to the table in their debut album, Electrick Sorcery (Edged Circle Productions). Magick Touch explores the of the old school guitar riff fused with powerful and thunderous bass and drums to create loud in your face disc.
Tracks like the catchy, "Underwater Prison" and the hard riffing "Trouble & Luck" combine the Beer & Whiskey sounds that seem to fuel this record. "Wildfire" has the sleaze feel of the L.A. Sunset Strip of 1988 and "Dead Man In Chicago" shows a dirty, Bluesy side of the band, all with a piss and vinegar attitude. Think of bands like Raging Slab, GnR and TSOL and add in some Rock n Roll cliché lyrics, ala their aptly titled, "Love Rocket" and you get yourself a solid dose of Hard Rock.
With good riffs, a sense for a good melodic tune and a backstreet attitude, Magick Touch have a good debut release with Electrick Sorcery. Though the band is out of Norway, this record SCREAMS the L.A. Strip of the 80's with ideals of the glorious 70's. Tunes like "Swansong" are a testament of what the band has to offer. If you like your Hard Rock delivered with a strut and a beer in hand, check out Magick Touch, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
