This is my first experience of the band Faithsedge's material and it's not half bad at all. Comprising of singer/chief songwriter Giancarlo Floridia, guitarist Alex De Rosso (ex. Dokken) and on keyboards is Alessandro Del Vecchio who also produced their latest album. Since the last Faithsedge album there are a couple of new additions to the groups line-up in bass player Tim Gaines (now that's a familiar name) of Stryper, and drummer Matt Starr (Ace Frehley/Mr .Big). Together they are rocking it big time on the melodic hard rock bands third release Restoration.
Vocally Restoration is a predominantly solid album, though it's that powerful melodic music which is the strongest point. While this is a hard rock release with vibrant rockers such as "Never A Day" the band does venture into metal territory albeit briefly on "You Cannot Give Up" as Faithsedge mixes it up, "This War" is another strong tune and the spoken female parts work well. If you're a fan of melodic hard rock with some classic inspiration then Restoration could be one for you. Though if I had to compare this album to other such releases this year then the debut release from the Resurrection Kings is the more memorable choice.
