Unless I receive such a release to review I don't usually bother with greatest hits albums even those by my favorite groups. I don't see the sense in purchasing the same material twice, though sometimes there are those extra inclusions to try to entice you in such as new tracks, live material, remasters or even re-recordings. But they do serve best as an introduction to potential new fans or those that have limited material by the group in question. So if you are new or not familiar with all the albums by melodic speed/power metal guitar shredders Dragonforce or just simply have to own everything they release then here is you chance. Dragonforce have six studio albums to their name and this one is titled Killer Elite which is their 2CD best of collection for which they have selected 22 tracks. There is also a digi-pack edition including a DVD with all of their promo videos.
Covering Dragonforce's recordings so far Killer Elite has tracks taken from Dragonforce's 2003 debut Valley Of The Damned up until their last studio album 2014 Maximum Overdrive some of which are presented live here. I just find at times some of their albums can't become somewhat tiresome due to that obsession with speed, and I do like it more when they mix up. So I wont say that Dragonforce are one of my all time favourite groups but there are plenty of their songs that I do enjoy such as "Valley Of The Damned", "Cry Thunder", "Seasons" and "The Game" which are all included on Killer Elite as well as so many other fan favorites.
