It was in London that Scar Of The Sun formed in 2005, and they released their debut album A Series Of Unfortunate Concurrencies in 2011. Scar Of The Sun went on to tour with groups such as Dark Tranquility and Moonspell. As reflected in their song this "modern metal" group has a range of Influences that include Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, Tesseract, Bring Me The Horizon, In Flames, Tool, Katatonia, Trivium, Rammstein, Amorphis, NIN and Killswitch Engage. In Flood is their new album with guest appearances by Bob Katsionis (Firewind, Serious Black, OutLoud), George Katsanos (solo artist), Nick Syd (Cyanna Mercury) and Van Labrakis (Paul Oakenfold, Armin Van Buuren). Scar Of The Sun is a powerful sounding metal group with a mixture of clean and aggressive vocals and the album does sound impressive thanks to the excellent production. I have little doubt that this band will build a loyal fan base and they aren't short on talent though after spending some time with this album I can't say that I'm a huge fan of In Flood. I just like parts of many tracks and with the exception of "Enemies Of Reason" there is not a lot else here that makes me want to return.
