The US state of Florida is of course home to the mighty metal group Kamelot a band who have released so many memorable albums, and it turns out that is also where we find another talented power metal band Seven Kingdoms. Formed in 2007 and having released three albums Brothers Of The Night, Seven Kingdoms and The Fire Is Mine their latest is the four track EP In The Walls. The one aspect of this group that becomes quickly apparent is that unlike so many others Seven Kingdom have no keyboardist, and once you hear those sweet twin guitar harmonies and vocals they really aren't required. I should also mention to the Game Of Thrones fans of which I am led to believe that there are quite a few, though it was before the TV series came to appear that George R.R. Martin's series of books have provided inspiration to the group. Not just limited to some of their lyrical content but also including the choice of band name.
In The Walls includes some pretty cool artwork and two thundering new tracks that are set to appear on Seven Kingdom's next album, one that is scheduled to be released in 2017. That is the powered up title track "In The Walls" and "Undying" with the engaging melodic vocals of Sabrina Valentine, a super tight dynamic rhythm section and that killer guitar duo. Also appearing are two re-recorded songs "The Bloody Meadow" and "Stormborn" that originally appeared on their very first album Brothers Of The Night. I can see why they decided on these two wonderful metal tracks to which the band have made some changes. Whilst Sabrina Valentine wasn't around for their debut which featured a male vocalist she now gets the opportunity to add her wonderful vocals, although "Stormborn" where darker metal influences appear does include some male growls.
In The Walls leaves you with such a strong impression, but you will need to get in quickly as it would appear that this EP will be restricted to a limited number.
