As if just unleashing Trap the Witch, the latest release from Columbia's Witchtrap, wasn't enough, Hells Headbangers are it again, this time a CD & LP reissue of the bands debut from 2002, titled Sorceress Bitch. Out of print for years, Sorceress Bitch is now available to all those who have missed out on this blackened thrash powerhouse the first time around. Clearly influenced by the mid-'80s thrash/speed metal scene and with a healthy dose of early black metal, Witchtrap harness Kreator, Running Wild, Destruction, Bathory, Motorhead, Exciter, and Venom into a raw, violent sound that delivers plenty of metal thrills. "Dark Lord" and "Ripping Torment" rampage with raging thrash intensity, jackhammer double bass drumming colliding with fierce riffs and screaming vocals, while the mid paced thumper "Dead of Night" pounds your flesh with some kick ass riffing and tasty lead work. Much of this is frantic, speedy fair, the title track blistering with savage goodness, while "Black Angel", "Metal War", and "Total Sacrifice (Violent Force)" feature deliciously hellish vocals howling over plenty of manic riffs and lethal drumming.
Clearly somewhat of a minor underground classic, this reissue of Sorceress Bitch is easy to recommend to anyone who didn't discover this little blackened thrash gem 14 years ago.
