Paradox One: Alternate Reality

The best I can figure is Paradox One is Phil Jackson with some assistance from guitarist Rick Ray. Alternate Reality is a keyboard oriented CD that is some parts funk, some parts jazz, but most parts Wurlitzer.

The opening two tracks sound like what the Nerds would play for the Fraternity Contest (only without Lamar's rapping). The songs have this cheap cheese feel that almost keeps you from getting to the third track.

"Adrenaline Rush" matures in a hurry, but although the improvement is greatly noted, the song composition still isn't very unique. Jackson switches to different instruments (guitar on "Lisette") and different moods (Dance, Classical, Space-rock) but all in all, you get the feeling that someone was just playing around in their basement.

I have listened over and over thinking I was missing something, but come away each time with the same comment, "Nice. Not bad, but not special." Hard to recommend based on that.
