Primal Attack: Heartless Oppressor

Portuguese melodic thrash metal group Primal Attack combine classic and modern influences on their crushing new and second album Heartless Oppressor. Heartless Oppressor is released some three years after Primal Attack's debut album Humans and Primal Attack who sound like a healthy blend of Pantera, Lamb Of God, Machine Head, Soulfly, Fear Factory, Slayer and then some are one seriously tight and potent sounding unit. Like so much of this album opener "Red Silence" is action packed with harsh vocals and addictive mighty grooves, "Truth and Consequence" is one of the standouts with that extended instrumental build up working a treat on this pummeling Primal Attack metal number. "Heart and Bones" is another strong tracks where they mix up the intensity of the vocals and music with impressive results. Not a groundbreaking album but any means but if you want a metal release that's packed with attitude and with those impressive/dynamic performances then Primal Attack's Heartless Oppressor should do the trick.
