Okay, I'll admit it; I fell for the classic blunder. No, not the one about starting a land war in Asia, but the one about judging a book by its cover. When I received Out To Every Nation by Jorn Lande I just assumed it would be a tried and true Classic Hair-Metal CD.
But I was wrong. The first thing that stands out is Jorn's vocals. Although very much in the Axl Rose category, his range is very impressive, especially on the more sedate rockers like "Behind The Clown". There is good balance to this CD from all out rockers like "Young Forever" to intricate prog-sounding songs like "When Angel Wings Were White".
But the really surprising part of the CD is the drumming of Stian Krisoffersen. Many of the songs have the guitar and bass licks you would expect on a power rocker like this, but it is the unique drumming style that really sets this CD apart.
Out To Every Nation is highly recommended for fans of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal. It has all the things necessary; hard driving rockers, power guitar licks and solos, awesome metal vocals, and best of all, good songwriting.
