Badge: If It Hurts It Must Be Good

History lesson for the uninitiated; Badge became an entity featuring guitarist/singer Matti Norlin and drummer Fredrik Haake in 2002 and has released two albums Kill Another Fuzz in 2010 and If I Could Love I'd Love This in 2013. Both Norlin and Haake have impressive pedigrees within the Swedish Blues scene (hands up if you were unaware of this?) That's absolutely not to say that we find ourselves in Muddy Waters territory here for If It Hurts It Must Be Good, isn't exactly in my normal wheelhouse, it's quite difficult to categorize. In parts it feels like White Stripes (definitely not something I enjoy,) sometimes Led Zep, occasionally even more Zep. It's always fun to hear some quality slide geetar, played by skillful musicians as on "Yet to Come", however, overall this one doesn't quite match the some of its parts as it lacks a real humdinger of a tune to really make it stand out but quite an enjoyable album overall.
