I have to admit I am not well versed in the Symphonic Metal Genre. I love Dream Theater and Haken. I now love Qantice after only one listen to this, their 3rd album. Qantice hail from France but thankfully for me anway, they sing in English. My God do they sing. The vocals are stunning sometimes having triple harmonies. The drums reminded me of typical Speed Metal but the music is floating over the percussion with soaring and blazing guitar riffs and there's Violin here as well. How many Speed Metal bands feature a Trumpet and a female bass player? I can't think of any right now.
The most standout song for me was "Fractal Universe". It started out very quirky like heavy Gentle Giant and then they get back to what they do best. I really enjoyed it very much. This album makes me want to go back to their debut,The Cosmocinesy (2009) and the follow up,The Phantonauts (2014). My guess is they will be no doubt as excellent as The Anastoria.
On April 26th buy this....I sure will. Yes....Qantice are that good. I pity bands that have to follow them on stage. I give The Anastoria 5 blazing stars.
