Lordi: Recordead Live - Sextourcism In Z7 (CD/ DVD )

As you can see from the above Lordi's latest (their third) live album is available in a number of formats with an array of goodies alongside the music. The very first official music video for "Inferno" which was made 1994 and Mr. Lordi's final dissertation at the film academy is one of them. It wasn't available for review but I am sure it is cool for long term fans of the band. This is, however, the first live DVD released by Lordi and this has long been in the planning. Mr. Lordi is pleased to do nearly a quarter of a century later, “I am very happy that we waited until the Sextourcism tour, because we look amazing, the stage looks amazing and everything was perfect to create a stunning DVD.”

"The Riff" and "Devil Is A Loser" have been released on social media and, as ever, the band do indeed look pretty cool if you are the kind of person who buys into their schlock and to be honest, I do! It's very easy to make an argument that Lordi shot their bolt early on in their career and that the wholly surprising yet fun 2006 Eurovision win was perhaps a peak from which there would ever be one destination and that wouldn't be upwards. The truly great early material ( "Would You Love A Monsterman", "Blood Red Sandman" along with the closing triumvirate of "Who's your Daddy", "Devil Is A Loser" and "Hard Rock Hallelujah") is spread carefully throughout the set but the bad has produced some very creditable hard rocking material which has kept them relatively in vogue especially in mainland Europe. "Naked In My Cellar" is a fine more recent tune and although I could live without the solo spots including the one from the soon-to-be-departed OX (and am pleased that they aren't on the album proper) I very much enjoyed this love offering and plan to dig out my Lordi CDs from the back of my man cave.
