Annihilator: Ballistic, Sadistic

For over 30 years now, Jeff Waters has been crushing heads from North of the border in Canada (and now from the UK) with his band, Annihilator. And 2020 is no different with the release their 17th studio album, Ballistic, Sadistic, which is another slice of mega Metal from the Annihilator camp. If you are already a fan, this release will not let you down, as Jeff Waters understands what his fans want…Fast, Heavy and Brutal! And if you are new to the Annihilator game, strap in!!

Ballistic, Sadistic is a balls to the wall, Thrash/Speed Metal treat. Waters has always delivered the crushing, unrelenting riffage and why would he stop now? He doesn’t!!! Old school fans will put this up there with the classics like, Alice In Hell or Never, Neverland, as this 17th album is angry, pissed off and as the lead song on the album says, “Armed To The Teeth”. This is easily a frontrunner for a Top 2020 Metal album of the year.

Skeptical of what a 17th album in a band’s history might bring? I understand, who continues to bring the goods after 17 freakin’ albums? But look no further than the song, “I Am Warfare”. THIS is a classic Jeff Waters riff that is completely turbo charged and an instant Annihilator classic. It is completely badassery!! Manic, frantic and bombastic, that’s when Annihilator are at their Canadian best!

Technical, angry and unrelenting that’s a recipe for some awesome Metal in early 2020 and Annihilator deliver with Ballistic, Sadistic. It is a flamethrower of a Metal record that makes no excuses and is full of pissed off aggression and modern hi-tech production. Like your Metal fast and in your face? Annihilator delivers!
