Here we have the latest release from Grammy Award winning Producer/Guitarist/Engineer Brian Tarquin and his cast of many, putting together a tribute to those who lost their lives at the horrific Mandalay Bay shooting in Last Vegas, Nevada back in 2017. Mixing both instrumental as well as vocal pieces, Tarquin and his all-stars put in some fine performances here, such as Deep Purple/Dixie Dregs guitar legend Steve Morse on a sizzling "Distant Light", vocalist Phil Naro and the talented Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal on the groovy metal of "Lights of Las Vegas", the Black Label Society meets Alice in Chains stomp of "Demonic" (with Trey Gunn), and the proggy/fusion romp "Evil in Men's Hearts" featuring none other than Rainbow/Planet P legend Tony Carey. Of course, Mr. Tarquin's skills are also on display throughout, his bluesy, fuzzy, wah-wah laced leads scorch on "Vegas in Blue", the melancholy "Forgiveness", and the catchy pop of "Know Me". He even digs deep for some roaring Ronnie Montrose styled solos & Joe Satriani-ish whamy bar theatrics on the smoldering "Hallowed Ground", alongside Trey Gunn once again.
Good stuff all around, and a great sentiment behind the project.
