Full Scale's self titled CD has been released in the United States by Columbia Records. This is commercial metal-tinged hard rock as you would find on most hard-rock stations. It is straight ahead, irreverent, bitter, angst. In certain ways it reminds me of Red Hot Chili Peppers in the way that it mixes Metal with a more commercial edge. Ezekiel Ox, although not an amazing vocalist, does an excellent job with many style changes throughout the CD.
Many of the songs on Full Scale tend to lean towards juvenile profanity and shock value. Some of the more political songs make the point, but there is no end to the bitterness of these songs. Imagine if you can, the punk attitude played in heavy metal fashion and you can begin to understand Full Scale.
The CD will appeal to most fans of the current commercial Metal scene. The songs are accessible but yet contain the angst that keep from being fluff. You need to be prepared for lyrics like "kill your boss and take all his money". I probably won't spin this one often and it may not appeal to a wide audience, but if you don't mind an F-bomb or songs about kids destroying themselves, feel free. The music and emotional playing are excellent.
