Cave of Swimmers: Aurora
Determined Miami based Progressive Hard Rock Doomsters Cave of Swimmers (named after an Egyptian cave containing ancient rock art) unleash their new fiery and scorching hot debut record into the wild stratosphere, six long years after their well-received 2015 E.P release Reflection.
The impressive and multi-talented Florida duo combine a solidified strength with the bulky arms of power confidently luring a fresh but yet vintage style of Metal that is heavily used through a matter of a raw fabrication situated on the commanding Aurora; leaving the listener consistently hooked from the offset and wanting to continue on with the contemporary discovery of the enthralling depth lodged in this ambitious gate of musicality.
Routing on through with a combined weight of an heavily immersive melting pot of several Progressively arranged Hard Rock numbers paired with a portion of some slightly gloomy effects, the dawn patrolling twosome escort a roughly edged revisit to 2017's single 'The Sun' that brightly shines through with a vigorous mass production adjoined with a no nonsense agenda, before fundamentally delivering the punch with the bewildering shock to the head brainstormer 'Double Rainbow, that warmly appears as a stupendous leviathan taming spectacle for the album's efficient first single.
Moving on to later proceedings,' Aurora' creates the musical depth whilst keeping things easily effective, attracting a wider audience in the process, especially through the championing closing track 'C. S' that succeeds as more of an epic on a shorter scale and distributes the sublime quality constructed by the masterly brilliance of the men behind the wings of the artistic project 'Cave of Swimmers' - Guillermo Gonzalez and Arturo Garcia.
As this supreme offering appears as a shorter effort as a whole, this considerably reminds me of an early eighties period record, keeping things moving along sweetly to alluringly capture a more attentive and a relatively attractive reward in the grand scheme of things.
Fast track entries like the spiking mesmerising levels expressed on the advancing progressive venture of 'Looking Glass' notably mashes a diverse and Genre mixing lock combination with more of a Modernised Hard Rock feel aligned with a hand basket of some really crazy moments. However, the bulk yet remains in the verge pressed with a similar vintage mindset that elegantly pursues this impressive first chapter from the ferocious Venezuelan born pair as an astoundingly fantastical affair of a captivating musical awareness for the whole duration.
