Marco Pereira is a Brazilian arranger, composer and performer of classical guitar, and is considered one of the finest in the world. In 2019, Marius Noss Gundersen received a 3 year working grant from the Arts Council Norway to work on Pereira’s music. Gundersen has devoted himself to study and perform Pereira’s music. This is the second album from Marius based on the works of Pereira, and as a guitar lover, it is absolutely beautiful. Not being familiar with either artist, I was immediately captivated by the music, and Gundersen’s skillful playing and interpretations. The music is elegant, melodic, and offers plenty of variations in mood. If you love solo classical guitar, this comes highly recommended, and further investigation into both artists work is a must.
