Germany’s Inner Axis released a pair of catchy metal hymns in 2021 -- “Midnight Hunter” and “Steelbladed Avenger.” These were the first songs to emerge from the band since 2017’s full-length album We Live By the Steel, and they are now combined into a four-track CD padded with instrumental versions of both songs.
This is exactly what you’d expect from a German heavy metal band. Think Accept meets Helloween with healthy doses of Judas Priest and Hammerfall, and the vocal versions are more exciting than the instrumental ones. The question now is: Can Inner Axis take the momentum these two tracks generated and release a killer full-length album in 2022?
