Guitarist Jim Fagan and keyboardist Mike Troy (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen) who are both members of Savage Bliss have collaborated on a very short (11+ minutes) demo CD that brings together the worlds of metal and classical music. The project was simply to record a few classical pieces that inspired them over the years. Both prove themselves to be extremely capable players, and their chops are on full display. It is difficult to really get into the music as the pieces are so brief, but they are very well done and performed. Most people are familiar with this combination due to the popularity of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I don’t know if they plan to release a full length CD, or if this was just a quick one off, but either way, it is too brief to really have a chance to get into the music. A full length release would be much more satisfying, but if this is your thing, I believe you will enjoy it.
