Quantum Evolution Event is the brand new EP from Australian power metal act Ilium, and follows their 2020 full-length Carcinogeist. Once again, guitarist Jason Hodges and guitarist/bassist/keyboard player Adam Smith have joined up with vocalist/producer Lord Tim, with drums provided by Tim Yatras. The EP contains two new songs, the blistering title track and the super crunchy "Tsetse", both featuring Lord Tim's excellent heavy metal wailing and a fuselage of guitar firepower. From far back in their catalog the band have re-recorded the anthemic "Undergods", the mid-paced & melodic cruncher "Hostile Sky", and the fist pumping power metal rager "Mothcaste". Fans of blazing guitar and soaring vocals in your power metal would be well advised to check this EP out while we wait for Ilium's next full-length release.
