Green Desert Water: Black Harvest
Right from Spain’s burgeoning underground rock scene, Small Stone Records brings you vintage ‘70s Green Desert Water and their sophomore full length release titled Black Harvest, the follow up to their 2018 release Solar Plexus. In the power trio are:
Juan Arias García (fuzz guitar)
Dani Bárcena (drums and percussion)
Kike Sanchís (guitars and vocals)
Folks, this is a killer album, and right from the start these tunes will instantly grab you beginning with “Sacred Tree”, a pure and emotional journey into vintage psychedelic heavy rock. The changing tempos, bluesy tinged lead vocals, and a general catchiness had this listener wanting more. And that’s exactly what you get with the next track “Dead Sacred Tree” with its squalls of lead guitar, galloping beats and relentless drums. Fiery guitar work laces through every measure. The catchy, Led Zeppelin inspired “Too Many Wizards”, the trippy heavy fuzz of the title track, and the vintage heavy rock of “The Whale” where blues and rock merge in a psychedelic ocean of fuzz, are all excellent tunes. Really, Black Harvest is thirty-nine minutes of catchy, ‘70s driven rock music that will put anybody in a good mood. I really can’t recommend this album enough so I suggest you pick this up as quick as you can.
Essential listening for fans of classic rock music with that fuzzy touch.
