Electric Elite is the second album from Canada's heavy metal act Riot City, the band moving full speed ahead with their brand of old school classic & speed metal sounds, and have added new vocalist Jordan Jacobs along the way, he of the mercurial high pitched shriek that matches up perfectly with their relentless metal attack. The twin guitars of Cale Savy & Roldan Reimer are spewing a never ending barrage of riffs and solos throughout Electric Elite on such molten songs as "Beyond the Stars", "Eye of the Jaguar", "Return of the Force", and "Paris Nights", while the band slow down ever so briefly for the moody "Ghost Reality" and the mid-paced gallop of Lucky Diamond". The band even dip into some epic NWOBHM styled sounds on the lengthy closer "Severed Ties", crunchy riffs, blazing lyrics, acrobatic drums, and histrionic vocals blasting from all fronts. Honestly, Electric Elite screams 1982 in a big way, and in this day and age when retro is considered cool, Riot City are ticking all the boxes for metal fans who crave classic sounds. Highly recommended!
