Aphasia are four ambitious young musicians from Burlingame, California. Their debut CD Fact & Fiction is a combination of Indie-pop in the vein of The Foo Fighters and Third Eye Blind. Guitarist Aaron Prim has the alternate-rock hooks down pat and singer Jeff Harber sounds like a cross between Doug Robb of Hoobastank and Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day.
The music is infectious pop with enough angst to appeal to melodic-metal fans. Fact & Fiction does not vary too dramatically from song to song. This is accessible alternate-rock with an edge. "House Of Cards" and "Release" are probably the most mature songs on the CD. Aphaisa are a band that is finding it's legs and still working out all the kinks, but have done an excellent job of producing their initial CD.
Aphaisa is recommended for fans of Incubus and Linkin Park. Fact & Fiction is a fine debut CD that shows that these young slingers have the potential to become something special. Official release date is listed as Mid-July.
