Veteran German power metal act Orden Ogan is back with their 9th studio album, The Order of Fear, another grand spectacle from this band, and it comes in both a standard edition and a deluxe box set complete with game board, cards, and other assorted goodies which are drawn from the storyline behind the album.
The band as of today consists of:
Sebastian 'Seeb' Levermann (guitars, lead vocals, keyboards)
Niels Loffler (guitars)
Dirk Meyer Berhorn (drums
Steven Wussow (bass)
Patrick Sperling (guitars)
Fans of Euro-power metal acts such as Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Hammerfall, and the like will instantly fall in love with the sounds here on The Order of Fear, as Orden Ogan pumps out an endless supply of big fat guitar riffs, sweeping keys, and soaring vocal harmonies every step of the way. Right off the bat, you get three killer tracks in a row with "Kings of the Underworld", "The Order of Fear", and the ultra-anthemic "Moon Fire", each one heavy enough and instantly memorable. The band's folk metal leaning come into play on the engaging "Conquest", and there are tasty guitar licks aplenty on the rousing power metal ripper "Blind Man". As you make your way through the rest of the album, it's also very apparent just how good of a singer Seeb has become over the years (he's like a more accessible Hansi Kurshe) as he soars through other memorable tracks such as "Prince of Sorrow", "Dream Lord", "My Worst Enemy", and "The Long Darkness".
With a now very impressive back catalog, Orden Ogan has added another winner to it with The Order of Fear. It's expertly produced and filled with instantly memorable songs that feature blazing guitars and top-notch vocals. Can't ask for much more than that!
