After their first single in September 2005, Reflexion have released their second single titled "Storm", which is also going to be futured on their upcoming full-length album Out of the Dark. Unlike the two songs on their Undying Dreams single, "Storm" has a bigger groove to it, but with the expected Finnish darkness to it. Juha Kylmänen once again impresses with his amazing voice, kinda like a depressed Ville Laihiala of Sentenced and the Charon singer circa Sorrowburn, especially the melancholic tune "Burndown". The song has modern synth lines, a steady drum beat, melodic guitar playing with a beautiful lead solo, and sad lyrics that seem to suggest yearning for the loved one. It also features great backing vocals and is a nod to 80's pop rock in this aspect. There is also a great live video of the same track for those interested.
It's a shame that this band is getting promoted with only a single song, as it makes it difficult to judge their music in its fullness. I look forward to hearing Out of the Dark but, based on the three songs I've heard from Reflexion, I would highly recommend it to fans of sad yet extremely melodic pop rock, excellent vocals, and great production.
