Oscar has assembled the crème de la crème of Bay area South American musicians (and special guest Chuscales from Spain on flamenco guitar) to record this heartfelt tribute to his childhood in his homeland Bolivia. Oscar himself describes the project as "music from my soul, Bolivia' and as "a flow of melodies that glide along like a river of light. A river that was once a part of my childhood, now being born again". This is Oscar's sixth release on the independent Karumanta Music label since 1992, but his first of all original instrumental music. Oscar composed, produced, recorded, mixed, co-mastered and performed antara (Andean bamboo pan flute), guitar, bass and synthesizers on these tracks. Oscar is a critically acclaimed performer worldwide but most particularly in the Bay area where spellbound audiences regularly witness his live performances playing the antara and guitar simultaneously.
The music is a melting pot of Spanish flamenco nylon string sway, Andean string instruments and percussion and of course lofty smooth vocal-like lines delivered around the lush rhythms from Oscar's antara. This is almost 70 minutes of soothing uplifting melody that flows very much like a languid slow moving river from Oscar's soul to that of the listener.
