New York's Level Six are back with another short demo, this one a four-song set that is really only three, as the opener "Love Is A Myth" appeared on their EP "On the Inside". Produced by Sylvia Massy Shivy (System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Prince, Sevendust) and Kale Holmes, this short collection of songs sound great, and give a firm indication of the type of potential this band has. While their last EP had some raunchy metal moments on it, you get much more of their playful pop & punk style here, with plenty of infectious melodies ("Yesterdays") and upbeat arrangements("All the Way") that should appeal to a younger audience who likes aggressive music with lots of hooks and just the right amount of hard rock and punk attitude. For the metal or prog crowd there's nothing here that will really be of interest, but if radio friendly rock is your thing check out a band who might just have a bright future ahead of them.
