Manoel Macia: Cielo Profundo

Sea Of Tranquility is the perfect place for unknown artists to get their music heard. We have led the charge on some really innovative bands. But with every gem, you have to sort through the rubble. A CD like Cielo Profundo is especially difficult since you can tell that the artist worked his tail off to create the exact sound and mood that is being presented. Manoel Macia is a one man show, playing melodic guitar lines built around mood and passion. His performance is excellent, but 54 minutes of pluck, pluck, pluck gets very repetitive.

Of the acoustic guitar CDs I have heard over the last 24 months, Cielo Profundo is as good as any, it just has too much of the same thing. Manoel Macia is a talented musician, and if you like guitar mood music, this is a good choice. But I'd love to see him find some musicians to augment his sound and grow his music.

Manoel Macia: Cielo Profundo

My Score:

I listened Manoel at MySpace.
I was very very impressed!! His music is very deep, expressive and has a lot of colors.
His songs is a poetry on written by guitar. His themes are Universal with no limitation of Time and Space.
I disagree this previous revue - Manoel is fine by himself.
Maybe other musicians can bring something else, but I listened it many times and never tired from it. I love his music.
His album would be a Gem in ones music collection.
