Assailant, The: Colera

The Assailant are a Seattle math-rock, hardcore, grind band, that have put together this release Colera without any song titles (basically just numbers with some lyrics thrown next to them), housed in an odd digipack with basically paintings of one lovely woman in various poses and settings. What you get here is a lot of noise, and I mean a LOT of noise, comprised of endless screaming, jagged rhythms, and the disjointed, chaotic arrangements. While occasionally there are some interesting and complex guitar passages, for the most part this is just nonsensical noise that offers little other than to participate in some disorganized chaos. I don't know how much of an audience there is for stuff like this, but frankly I was left scratching my head...
