Ego Eimi: I'm Living

Russian multi-instrumentalist Alexander Skorobogatov is Ego Eimi and I'm Living is his 2001 independent release. His musical influences run from folk to progressive rock which can clearly be heard over the course of the 8 tracks on this disc. Skorobogatov plays some very nice melodic guitar solos throughout, with the closing solo on the title track being a particular highlight. While this track is epic in nature clocking in at a whopping 14 minutes, it is the closing instrumental number "The Great Friday" which really shines and highlights Skorobogatov's talents as a guitarist and keyboardist. It's a heavy/ progressive rock fans wet dream with its varied tempo changes and driving rhythm guitar work. I'm Living is in keeping with Skorobogatov's musical style and while all the lyrics are in Russian, the music alone presented here is worth it.
