Graboids are a mostly instrumental band who combine space and post-rock styles with an indie flair on their latest Infinite Delay. This four-piece band throw waves of guitar shards and fragments at the listener while the steadfast rhythms hold things in place. Mixing elements of ambient, stoner, and the above mentioned space and post-rock styles, these guys run the gamut from psychedelic journeys into deep dark space to bombastic freak-outs of metallic urgency (check out the crazed arrangements of "Tremelo"). Most of the material features loopy, somewhat distorted guitar lines, lilting chords, and the occasional bursts of aggression, while the overall feel is very dark and moody. Standout tracks include "Weapons Of Mass Distraction" and "Cowboy Killer", but really, with the exception of the lone vocal piece, the awful rap inflected "Top Of The Network", most of what you hear on Infinite Delay is pretty solid, if at times a tad unspectacular. Graboids are definitely a band to watch out for if you like dark guitar oriented instrumental music.
