There's all kinds of nonsense to wrap your head around with this one: A band that's not a band, songs that are on the album by this band but not performed by the full unit, blah, blah, blah, blah. Once you've got your head around all of that you can actually get down
to listening to the dang thing, released, by the way, on the normally trusty Australian Cattle God imprint from down in Austin, Texas. While striving to expand its (apparently) consistently expanding stable of members, whatever is at the core of AF gets lost in
the muddle. A couple of the compositions here are neat-o at their onset but quickly fall prey to goofy indie-isms, wishy-washy arrangements and, in short, the sound of some well-indulged kids who just dropped the LSD they made with their Fischer Price chemistry
set and started effin' around with Dad's 4-track while he was out mowing the yard. Give me something/anything with this same batch of dudes behind it and make it
coherent/sane and tuneful and maybe I/someone might bite.
