Oh, no — not another metal album with the word "dragon" somewhere in the title! Actually, about half of Dragonheart, the third CD from Messiah's Kiss, eschews the clichés of by-the-numbers modern power metal and opts for a more melodic take on traditional hard rock and heavy metal. Songs like "Where the Falcons Cry", "Thunders of the Night," "City of Angels" and "The Ivory Gates" prove bands that still put paintings of naked women, snakes and demons on their album covers aren't all one-dimensional knuckleheads. The remaining tracks are less memorable, but the album as a whole nevertheless establishes Messiah's Kiss as a band with something a little different to offer headbangers who already have too many choices…
